Launch of the annual Mass Fire Evacuation Drill 2015
2 September 2015
The annual NFEC Mass Fire Evacuation Drill (MFED) was successfully launched on 2 September 2015 at Galmon (S) Pte Ltd. This launch marks the start of a month-long campaign to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness in both the commercial and industrial premises.
Graced by the Chairman of NFEC, Mr Alan Loh, the MFED value-adds to the participants as they learned first-hand on what to do during an emergency and be familiar with their premise’s evacuation route.
“NFEC recognises the importance of emergency preparedness and has been organising an annual campaign on Mass Fire Evacuation Drills since 2004. The response to MFED has always been very encouraging and many factories, commercial and public buildings have organised their own evacuation drills in the month of September to support the campaign.” – Chairman Mr Alan Loh
The successful launch would not have been possible without the efforts of the Industrial Premises Committee (IPC), with special guidance from IPC Chairman Mr Rowan Tan and Vice-Chairman Mr Edwin Yap, and MFED Organising Chairman Mr Benedict Koh. A big thank you goes to the officers from 4th SCDF Division for supporting the event.
This year, more than 33,000 participants from 250 premises have registered for the month-long MFED campaign in September.
